Les Mills

An office block turned into a new three-level Les Mills gym required New staircases, canopies, roof strengthening and a large outdoor plant platform.

Challenges:

Getting steel into an existing building is always difficult work. Most of the steelwork was trolleyed into the building and hand erected using hoists and chain blocks.

We built and erected two compliant staircases in existing stairwells. We also fabricated and installed the Architectural balustrades and handrails.

Facts & figures:

Over 40 tonnes of new steelwork was used.

Because the site was next to an extremely busy intersection, we needed traffic control for deliveries and partial road closures for craning plant platform steel onto roof.

All steelwork on site was measured and detailed in house before manufacture and protective coatings.
